iDECIDE (Drug Education Curriculum: Intervention, Diversion, and Empowerment) is a 4-session drug education curriculum developed to provide behavioral support and psychoeducation for middle and high school students. Providing youth with science-based knowledge and skills, iDECIDE challenges young people to make decisions that align with their core values and future goals to support their own personal well-being. This program was developed by the Center for Addiction Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in collaboration with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Institute for Health and Recovery (IHR) with close attention to evidence-based practices. Sessions consist of videos, discussion, activities and at-home assignments and address a wide range of substances that are most commonly used by adolescents. iDECIDE is currently offered to all high school students with tobacco, alcohol or other drug use infractions. It can also be used as a general drug education curriculum for adolescents experimenting with substances who have not received any infraction.
