History of Holliston Youth and Family Services

Holliston Youth and Family Services, an organization that has been serving the community for the past 30 years, began its journey as an advisory board before blossoming into a vital department. Committed community members recognized the importance of addressing the needs of at-risk youth and worked together to protect and support them.

For three decades, this organization has been a beacon of hope, providing crucial mental health services to those in need. Operating as a free mental health agency ensures that individuals and families can access these services without the finanical stressors and barriers of insurance. These are key protective factors that make HYFS a vital safety net for individuals facing mental health challenges.

Fundraising efforts and advocacy have played a significant role in enabling the organization to thrive. The community's support, both financially and through raising awareness, has been instrumental in sustaining the services provided by Holliston Youth and Family Services.

While the organization has grown over the years, the Youth Advisory Board has maintained its pivotal role within the department. Their expertise, guidance, and ongoing involvement continue to shape the programs and strategies implemented by Holliston Youth and Family Services, ensuring they remain responsive to the ever-evolving needs of the community.

As Holliston Youth and Family Services celebrates its 30-year milestone, it stands as a testament to the power of community collaboration and the unwavering dedication of those who recognize the importance of accessible mental health support. Its role as a free mental health agency and its reputation as a safety net make it a cherished and invaluable resource for the community.
