Based on increased COVID-19 case counts and rising positivity rates in Middlesex County, at a meeting of the Board of Health on Tuesday, August 30, the board adopted an indoor mask order for visitors to and workers in municipal buildings, effective 12:01 AM on Tuesday, September 7. The order will remain in effect until at least November 1. The Board will continue to monitor public health metrics, which could result in the order being extended or rescinded, or broadened to an indoor mask order for all public spaces.
Previously, based on increased COVID-19 case counts and rising positivity rates in Holliston, at a meeting of the Board of Health on Thursday, August 19, the board strongly encouraged individuals to observe the latest CDC guidance on recommendations for mask use in indoor public spaces. Middlesex County was considered to be an area of substantial transmission; therefore, the CDC recommends people wear a mask in public indoor settings, regardless of their vaccination status.
