This is an issue affecting Medway, Holliston, and Millis. The outages are being caused by decayed/ dead oak trees that have been infested with a beetle over the past couple of years. The trees are coming into contact with our overhead. This can happen even on blue sky days.
Many of these trees are out of our trim zone and are on private property. We had our vegetation management contractor identify the trees and we are working with the towns and residents to remove the trees that are potential hazard to our system.
We are also upgrading automated switches that will help restore service faster.
These upgrades and tree work will be happening over the course of the next couple of months.
