SPRING 2017 HYDRANT FLUSHING

HYDRANT FLUSHING  HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED
HYDRANT FLUSHING IS EXPECTED TO RESUME WEDNESDAY, MAY 31, 2017

THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS WILL BE FLUSHING FIRE HYDRANTS

BEGINNING TUESDAY, MARCH 28,2017

DURING THE HOURS OF 7AM TO 11PM

THESE OPERATIONS WILL CONTINUE FOR 6 - 8 WEEKS

Residents may experience discolored water or lower than normal pressure as hydrants are flushed. If you experience discolored water, flush your system by opening cold water faucet for a few minutes.  If the water is still not clear the flushing procedure should be repeated in an hour. During periods of discoloration, postpone washing clothes and limit your use of hot water until the cold water clears.  Please note that if your area is not actually being flushed that day, you may still experience discolored water.

Flushing is necessary to improve water quality and ensure proper hydrant operation.  We attempt to schedule flushing in a manner that minimizes customer disruptions.

Thank you for your cooperation and we apologize for any inconvenience.
