Volunteers Wanted!

* Conservation Files --The Conservation Agent, Jane Pierce, is looking for people to help go through the conservation files at Town Hall.

* Looking for Endangered Species -- Jane is also asking people to let her know where endangered species of salamanders and turtles are. The salamanders are marble and blue-spotted. The turtles to look for are any kind except painted and snapping.

* Federal Storm Water Discharge Clean Up Program -- Every town is required to do a number of things to monitor and decrease non-point source discharges under this program (NPDES). Many town departments are involved in this program. Jane presented a list of activities she is hoping the Associates will take on; these include publishing articles, creating a stormwater display, holding pond and river clean-ups, and planting native trees and shrubs.

*Map Updating -- It is time to update the big map showing all the conservation land in town. We give away copies of the maps at Celebrate Holliston and our supply has dwindled. We need people to work with Robert Weidknecht. The Fairbanks property needs to have a blurb written about it. There are several smaller areas that can be added to the map also.

If you are interested in any of these activities, please contact us.
