Holliston Historic Preservation

Historic Preservation

Holliston is fortunate to enjoy a wealth of historic resources, from the stately homes lining Washington Street to the 8-arch railroad bridge and former shoe factories of Mudville. The town has recognized its historic character through the establishment of two National Register Historic Districts and through efforts to preserve significant historic structures such as the 1855 Town Hall and the 1870 Metcalf Pumphouse. Holliston recognizes the importance of the acquisition, protection, preservation, restoration and/or rehabilitation of historic, cultural, architectural and/or archaeological resources and has established goals for such in its 1998 Master Plan.
